The RAPID-IBD study

Help speed up inflammatory bowel disease diagnosis

Do you have:

  • Blood in your poo?
  • Abdominal pain that won’t go away?
  • Diarrhoea that can’t wait?

If you have experienced any of these symptoms, you may have a problem with your bowel health.

The RAPID-IBD pilot study, led by the Royal Devon and the University of Exeter, is exploring new ways to speed up diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Backed by the Know Your Sht* campaign and endorsed by Exeter City FC defender Jack Fitzwater.

If you are aged 16–49 and living in the EX postcode area, request a free testing kit via the RAPID-IBD 2 study website here

The Know Your Sh*t campaign

Jack Fitzwater with study teamIntroducing ‘Know Your Sh*T’, a marketing campaign designed to stop people in their tracks with bold wording, eye-catching visuals, and a dash of humour.

Endorsed by Exeter City Football Club defender Jack Fitzwater, the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive when tested with focus groups and participating pharmacies.

With its edgy style, the campaign may feel different from what you usually see from an NHS campaign, but this will help us reach more people and inspire them to get involved.

Look out for striking campaign graphics online, in local pharmacies and on posters across the EX postcode area!
