I'm pregnant, where can I get advice?

For non-urgent advice about your pregnancy and care, please talk to your community midwife team as usual.

For non-urgent information and advice about the temporary suspension, please call the dedicated support helpline on 01271 335773. It is open Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. Outside these hours, you can leave your contact details and request a call back.

Any women, birthing person or family member who needs urgent medical advice should call our maternity triage line as usual - at any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 01392 406616. Please don't wait to call triage at any time if you are worried about you or your baby.

Where can I find the latest information for pregnant women and birthing people?

We have developed an information pack which brings together a range of advice and information to help you make the right choice for you and your baby. We are updating this every week to make sure you can access up-to-date information in one place. 

How are you keeping patients and the local community updated?

We are sharing information with patients by:

• Speaking to over 300 pregnant women and birthing people, who were 34+ weeks pregnant when the suspension started, high risk or vulnerable, to discuss their plan and help them understand their options. 

• Contacting all the people who are under the care of NDDH maternity services. We have done this through patients secure MY CARE account wherever possible, or by text or email if preferred by the patient.

• Keeping our information pack and these FAQs up to date with the latest information and advice.

We are keeping patients and the local community updated by:

• Providing updates through our social media channels.

• Keeping the information on our website and FAQs up to date with the latest information and advice.

• Publishing stakeholder briefing newsletters and other related documents on the website here.
