The 2024 National Cancer Patient Survey results were released in July, with the Royal Devon scoring well against the national average.
The Trust had 1636 survey responses, an increase of 387 people compared to 2023, and was well above the national average for participation with a 60% response rate.

Nationally, the average rating of cancer care sits at 8.9 out of 10, with the Royal Devon achieving a rating of 9.1, up from 9.0 in 2023.
The Trust also sat above the expected range for 24 questions (14 questions more than in 2023), and within the expected range for the remaining 36, out of a total 61 survey questions.
The Cancer Services team are incredibly pleased with this year’s results and will use them to further improve these important services for patients.
The National Cancer Patient Survey is conducted annually and is open to all patients receiving cancer related care or treatment as an inpatient or day case in the NHS.
