The Royal Devon, like many NHS Trusts, continue to experience significant capacity challenges with ongoing high attendances at our emergency departments. The consistent challenges we face have significantly impacted our urgent and emergency services and the experience patients have of our care.  

In order to reduce pressure on NDDH, from Monday 27 July, the Royal Devon and Exeter (Wonford) Hospital will be supporting our northern teams by receiving patients from postcodes EX36, EX20, EX22.

This change is part of the Trust’s wider plan to continuously improve our emergency services, reduce waiting times and provide the best outcomes for our patients.
