Last week we were honoured to welcome Lord Mayor of Exeter Gemma Rolstone to the RD&E (Wonford). The Lord Mayor met with colleagues in the Emergency Department and Chief Executive Officer Sam Higginson.

The visit was planned in recognition of 999 Emergency Day on 9 September, with the Lord Mayor also meeting with colleagues working in the ambulance, police and fire services.

The day provides an opportunity for the Lord Mayor to personally thank staff and show the city's appreciation for the outstanding dedication, professionalism and commitment demonstrated by colleagues every day in keeping the people of Exeter and the surrounding communities safe.

The Lord Mayor said: “It’s incredible to see the commitment of the team in such a high-pressured environment. They are all a credit to the Royal Devon, and the people of the community they serve.”
