Spring COVID-19 booster programme launches Tuesday 1 April
1 Apr 2025
The national COVID-19 spring booster programme will begin today, Tuesday 1 April
COVID-19 is more serious in older people and in people with certain underlying health conditions. For these reasons, those eligible are:
- People aged 75 years and over
- Those in care homes
- Those aged six months and over with a weakened immune system.
You should come forward rather than waiting for the NHS to contact you this year. The National Booking System is now open to book appointments.
If you or someone you know can’t get online, book by calling 119 free of charge, where a translator is available if needed.
You can find out more about our vaccination sites here on our website and please visit our online vaccination clinic calendar for the most up to date clinic dates.
While having your spring vaccine around six months after your last dose is the usual timeframe, you can have it as soon as three months after a previous COVID-19 vaccine dose.
It is important that everyone who is eligible takes up the offer this spring before the vaccination programme closes on 17 June 2025.
