Tell us what you think about MY CARE
6 Jan 2026
Over the past year we’ve been working hard to make improvements to MY CARE, but what do you think?
MY CARE is our patient app and online service that gives patients access to their Royal Devon medical information.
Last year we carried out a survey with thousands of MY CARE users and 90% told us they loved it. We also received helpful feedback about what we could do to improve it. Now we want to understand what MY CARE users think of recent developments and how else we can improve it.
Whether you are using MY CARE directly as a patient or as a proxy user, we’d love to hear from you.
Complete the survey at: https://forms.office.com/e/TC1qYsZz3r
The survey will close on Friday 6 February.
What did we do with the last survey results?
Survey respondents talked about confusion with test results, having a disjointed experience in some ways, and opportunities to improve user experience. We discussed this feedback with our digital patient reference group of patient representatives to better understand these views.
Adrian Harris, Chief Medical Officer for Digital and Research, said: “The positive response from thousands of patients was great to see, but the survey results also helped us identify work that we needed to do to improve MY CARE.
“Patient and proxy user feedback has directly influenced the improvement work we’ve done over the past year. We are also making other changes to help us deliver care more efficiently and more conveniently for patients. MY CARE is just getting better and better.”
Improvements include:
Helping you understand your test results: we have added information to explain how we manage test results, including when you can expect to see them in MY CARE. On some test result pages we have added a link to an online resource that provides basic information about what the test is for and what the results mean.
Giving patients a more joined-up experience: in 2026 patients of Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust and University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust will also be able to see their medical information on MY CARE. This is part of the work to introduce a single Devon-wide hospital electronic patient record. This will also make a huge difference to clinical teams across the trusts, who will have quicker and easier access to patient records when they need them.
Joining up with the NHS App: in 2026 patients will find MY CARE in the NHS App. MY CARE users will still need to use MY CARE to access its full benefits and information, but the two apps will be more joined up than they are now.
Improving support to help you use MY CARE: we have created a new ‘how-to’ guide to better explain the basics of using MY CARE. We now have MY CARE champion volunteers (currently RD&E only) who help patients with getting started, answer basic questions, and give advice about where to find further help.
Reflecting the things that matter to you: We have added ‘civil partner’ as a relationship status.
