Sidwell Street Walk-in Centre

Sidwell Street Walk-in Centre

Our walk-in centre is similar to a minor injuries unit (MIU). You can go to one of the walk-in centres if you have a medical problem that is not critical or life threatening, including for blood pressure checks or minor cuts and wounds.

Our WIC is in the city centre on Sidwell Street and is staffed by highly-trained nurse practitioners. It is currently closed on Mondays and Thursdays, but is open 8am-8pm the rest of the week - more information about these temporary closures is available here.

Choosing a walk-in centres for non-life threatening conditions will ensure you receive the best possible treatment, leaving our Emergency Department free to deal with the more serious cases.

Devon Sexual Health Exeter also has a clinic at Sidwell Street. Please visit the Devon Sexual Health website for more information.

The WIC will be closed on the following dates in December and January but open 8am – 8pm every other day:

  • Monday 19 December
  • Wednesday 21 December
  • Sunday 25 December
  • Tuesday 27 December
  • Friday 30 December
  • Monday 2 January
