Volunteering (Eastern services)

Are you interested in becoming a volunteer? Do you want to help your local hospital or gain experience in a hospital setting? Do you want to give your time supporting the NHS?

Our volunteers are a core part of the Royal Devon and Exeter (RD&E) Hospital, giving their time, experience, enthusiasm and compassion to help others. Whether it’s brightening someone’s day with a special song, kind word or simply a smile, our volunteers make a real difference to our patients and their family and friends every day. It's not all one way; volunteering with us can be hugely rewarding, bringing excitement, learning and great companionship.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the number of volunteers we can currently have within our hospitals, and the roles they carry out but there are still some areas where volunteers are a valuable part of the service we can offer.
