Upper gastrointestinal cancer
Upper gastrointestinal (GI) cancers include oesophageal cancer, stomach cancer, small bowel cancer, pancreatic cancer, liver cancer and cancers of the biliary system.
The upper GI cancer team provides a diagnostic and treatment service for patients with suspected or confirmed cancer after a referral from their GP or another healthcare professional.
Depending on the type and staging of the disease, treatment options for upper GI cancer will vary. The main treatment options include surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
