Okement ward

Okement ward is located at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (Wonford). We care for patients with a range of gastrointestinal, hepatic and nutritional conditions, as well as other general medical conditions. Okement is a 27-bedded ward with four single-sex bays and four side rooms.

The ward works closely with the endoscopy unit and other health professionals, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, the nutritional and intestinal failure support team, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) nurses, hepatology, upper GI cancer and palliative care nurse specialists.

We aim to provide the best possible care and support to you and your family. We have quality goals on Okement in areas such as nursing quality, cleanliness, plus patient and staff safety and satisfaction. These goals are measured in different ways by the trust, ourselves and other external agencies. We always seek to obtain feedback from our patients so that we are aware of how we have met expectations or what we could do better.
