South West NHS Genomic Medicine Centre

The NHS Genomic Medicine Centres were set up to help deliver the largest gene sequencing project in healthcare.

They enabled patients and family members to participate in the 100,000 genomes project, which helped to make genomic medicine a routine part of NHS care.

From April 2020, the functions of the genomic medicine centres have been incorporated into the NHS Genomic Medicine Service.
