Blood Sciences (Chemistry, Haematology and Immunology)
Staff working in the Blood Sciences department receive blood, urine, faeces and other fluid specimens from patients for examination in our state-of-the-art pathology laboratory. Scientists there will carry out tests on these samples to diagnose illness or to help treat disease.

The Exeter Blood Sciences Laboratory is a modern, high-quality service generating more than 25,000 results every day for both NHS and research patients.
The combined laboratories provide a full range of Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology, Immunology and Blood Transfusion within the custom-designed laboratories

Northern services
The Pathology Laboratory is located on level 1 at North Devon District Hospital. Diagnostic testing is an integral part of the healthcare equation. Laboratory tests are integral to the diagnosis of disease or monitoring of therapy.
We provide a high-quality diagnostic and consultative service to clinical users of the hospital and to primary and secondary care providers in the community.
