North Devon District Hospital

A phlebotomy service is available for both inpatients and outpatients. The phlebotomy service is managed by the Outpatients Department and can be found on Level 2.

For patients aged 16+

This is a walk-in service. Open from 9am to 4.45pm (last admission), Monday to Friday, in Outpatients Area A.

Please do not arrive before 9am. Make sure you leave plenty of time to be seen by the last admission at 4.45pm.

There is high demand for this service. You may need to wait up to one hour, sometimes more.

For patients under 16

This is an appointment-only service carried out by our paediatric nursing team.

Open from 9am-5pm, Monday to Thursday, in Outpatients Area B. 

Parents/guardians must call 01271 322701 to arrange the appointment.

For inpatients

Ward rounds start at 8am Monday to Friday. On Saturdays and bank holidays (except Christmas Day), the service operates from 8am to 12pm.
