Devon County Council Chair, Cllr Ian Hall visited Greendale last week to meet our vaccination staff and volunteers, and to get his COVID-19 autumn booster.

He had this to say:

‘Maria and I wish to convey our wholehearted thanks to all those who are delivering this vital service to the residents of Devon, some of whom are working 12+ hour shifts to deliver the vaccine, keeping us healthy and enabling us to return to some normality after the restrictions of COVID-19.

‘When Maria and I left the car, we both put on a mask to enter the centre, a reminder of how far we have come in recent times and how we should not take our health for granted.

‘The vaccination programme has only been possible because of the wonderful dedication shown by NHS staff and volunteers on a daily basis. I was told that around 1,700+ vaccinations per day are being administered. I urge everyone to consider taking up the vaccination offer as soon as possible, especially with seasonal flu on the rise, too. There is still work to do to support our diverse and under-represented groups to take up the offer, and I sincerely hope this aspect of the vaccination programme will continue to receive the focus it rightly deserves.’
