Sexual health

Having an active sex life can have health benefits such as improving the condition of your heart, reducing stress and improving mental health. Being part of a happy, healthy relationship can also reduce depression and anxiety. Even a hug can reduce your blood pressure and improve your sense of well-being.

It is vitally important however to practice safe sex, to protect yourself and others. Many people with sexually transmitted infections (STIs) do not get symptoms, so it's worth getting tested even if you feel fine. If you think you have an STI, the earlier you're tested, the sooner treatment can be given if it's needed.
