Just 6 - read, watch, listen.
Just 6 Minutes Daily - setting aside just 6 minutes to read each day can significantly enhance your mental health and overall well-being.
What is Just 6?
Just 6 is a mental health and wellbeing initiative developed by the Knowledge and Library Service Northern Librarian to support colleague wellbeing through reading.
Benefits of Reading for Wellbeing
- Reduces stress levels and promotes personal growth
- Improves sleep quality and cognitive function
- Fosters emotional growth and social connections
- Maintains work-life balance and prevents burnout
How It Works
Goal: Complete 6 wellbeing-focused reading or listening activities to earn a free book reward
What counts:
- Physical books
- eBooks and audiobooks
- Podcasts
- Wellbeing websites and apps
Two Ways to Participate
Option 1: Physical Bookmark (Traditional Books)
- Pick up a Just 6 bookmark from the library
- Borrow, read, and return wellbeing books
- Collect 6 stamps on your bookmark
- Choose your free book reward
Option 2: Digital Booklet (Digital Resources)
- Download the booklet or Word version if you can't print
- Use digital resources (websites, eBooks, audiobooks, podcasts, apps)
- Answer 6 questions about 6 different wellbeing resources
- Return completed booklet to choose your free book
How to Submit
In person:
- The Library, Level 1, NDDH
- Exeter Health Library, Level 2, RILD Building, RD&E
Remote/community workers:
- Email your reading updates to keep your stamps current
