Library Services - Eastern
Welcome to Exeter Health Library! We are an NHS funded library and knowledge service and we are here to support all Royal Devon University Healthcare staff, students on placement at the RD&E and local NHS staff.
We also provide library services for Devon Partnership NHS Trust staff. For more information see our dedicated DPT page.
What we have got
As you would expect from a health library, our collection covers a wide range of medical specialties as well as nursing and mental health. Our book stock is regularly updated and you are welcome to recommend titles for us to buy. The majority of our journals are now online, and you will need an NHS OpenAthens account to access these. NHS OpenAthens gives you access to thousands of online resources from ejournals and ebooks, to point of care tools such as BMJ Best Practice and Dynamed. More information about NHS OpenAthens for RDUH can be found here.
For anything you need that we don't have in stock or the NHS doesn't subscribe to, we have a document supply service. We are part of a network of other NHS libraries regionally and nationally meaning there is very little we can't get our hands on! For article requests we can deliver a PDF copy directly to you by email, and we can deliver books to your workplace or keep them here for you to collect.
We have 18 RDUH networked PCs and 4 University of Exeter PCs. We have RDUH Wi-Fi if you have a Trust laptop or other Trust device. If you are bringing your own device there are GovWifi (for NHS staff) and eduroam (for University of Exeter staff and students) Wi-Fi networks available but you will need to register with them yourself for access. We have an NHS machine or printing, scanning and photocopying, and a University of Exeter printer.
