Information and advice for people waiting for treatment

We have lots of people waiting for our services and we have limited resources. This means we are unable to treat you as quickly as we would like and many of our patients are experiencing long waiting times. There are now many more people waiting for our services compared to before the COVID-19 pandemic.

When you are waiting for further treatment, we understand it can feel like a long wait. You may feel anxious and in pain whilst waiting, and this can have a significant impact on your life. We are truly sorry for the impact that this has on you, your family and/or carers.

Please know that recovering our waiting lists is our top priority and our staff are working hard to see you as quickly as possible. We are doing everything we can to deliver excellent care more quickly, including recruiting more staff, expanding our facilities, and using state-of-the-art equipment and the latest techniques.

The information and advice here is aimed at helping you manage your wait so you arrive for your appointment in the best possible physical and mental health. There is also information about what we are doing to see you as quickly as possible.

Please know that every person on our waiting lists is known to us, important to us and we review our lists regularly – we have not forgotten about you.
