Medical Assessment Unit - Northern Services

Our Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) provides specialised assessment and care for all medical patients who require admission to the North Devon District Hospital.

MAU aims to care for patients in the first 24 to 48 hours of their admission, if your hospital stay is longer than 24- 48 hours, you will be transferred to another medical ward to continue your treatment. There is a consultant ward round every day (including weekends) on MAU.
