At Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Trust, we are continuously striving to improve the experience of our patients.
Listening to what our patients think about the service they have received forms a vital part of this process.

Patient had serious concerns regarding their wheelchair and wanted support to get the appropriate cushion along with a harness and for the breaks to be repaired. The team at EMC contacted the patient and apologised for the lack of communication and appropriate support. An urgent appointment was arranged. The following learning was identified to ensure that these unnecessary delays do not happen to anyone else in future:

The complaint identified the patients allergies were not transferred to a preassessment document for a Cardiology procedure. As a result of this the preassessment document was amended to include a contrast allergy question. This action was added to our system and followed up to completion. This is a fantastic example of making complaints count and turning learning into action. |
