Changes to Eastern Podiatry services

We want to make sure our high-risk foot patients receive the care they need at the right time, in the right place.  To do this we are reviewing the service we offer and bringing it in line with other podiatry services in Devon.

All new referrals are triaged by a senior clinician and appointed to a new patient assessment, according to clinical need. Patients who are identified as low risk may not be able to access the service further at this point.

From January 2024, those new patients attending a face to face assessment will be assessed and given a risk score based on their presenting medical and foot conditions.  This will make sure they access the most appropriate level of care for their needs.  Existing patients will also undertake a similar assessment, from Spring 2024.
