Inclusion/Exclusion criteria
The service provides day case treatments for ambulant adults. All patients referred to the service will be triaged and RAG’d by the nursing team.
Patients will be considered inappropriate if they:
- Are deemed medically unfit to attend a day case appointment
- Require an overnight stay
- Are deemed to be clinically ‘high risk’ **
- Have an infection that is deemed by the Infection Control team to represent a significant risk that makes transfer inadvisable
- Require a treatment that is deemed ‘high risk’ making them unsuitable for community treatment **
- Require a bed for procedure * Eastern service only*
- Require same day treatment
- High care needs that require regular one to one care (to be explored on referral)
** All patients that are deemed high risk for the community will be referred onto the acute setting for delivery of treatment via the community team.
