Catch Up on our AI talk and Annual Members' Meeting
30 Sept 2025
Last Wednesday 24 September, we held a talk and Q&A on how we are using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve healthcare for patients at the Royal Devon and our formal Annual Members’ Meeting (AMM).
It was fantastic to see lots of members of the public, staff, and governors, both in the room at the RD&E and on Microsoft Teams. Attendees had some great questions for us and it was a valuable opportunity for us to hear people’s views about the use of AI in healthcare.
Dr Chris Mulgrew, Chief Clinical Information Officer and Consultant Nephrologist talked about the opportunities for using AI in healthcare and what this means for patients and staff. If you weren’t able to attend and would like to catch up, see below.
We then moved to our formal Annual Members’ Meeting. The Board of Directors presented a review of our achievements in 2024/25 and shared plans for the year ahead. There were also updates from our auditors and Lead Governor on the work of the Council of Governors. If you weren’t able to attend and would like to catch up, you can watch the AMM below.
Note: there was a technical issue with the sound, so the opening of the AMM includes a voice-over of the Chair’s introduction and there is a short gap in the Q&A.
We are planning to hold more events for members in the future. If anyone you know would be interested in future events, please encourage them to sign up to be a member to receive invitations direct to their email address, as well as other member benefits.
