Catch up on our robotic surgery talk and Annual Members’ Meeting
2 Oct 2024
Yesterday, Tuesday 1 October, we held a talk and Q&A on robotic surgery and our formal Annual Members’ Meeting (AMM).
It was fantastic to see lots of members of the public, staff, and governors, both in the room at the RD&E and on Microsoft Teams. Attendees had some great questions for us and it was a valuable opportunity for us to hear everyone’s views.
If you weren’t able to attend and would like to catch up, you can use watch below.
Dr Mike Hanneman, Consultant Gynaecologic Oncologist, explained how robotic surgery works, how he has been using it at the RD&E, and described the benefits robotic surgery has on patient outcomes and experience. Miss Elizabeth Waine, Consultant Urologist, joined for the Q&A.
Note: the videos in the presentation did not play properly in the Teams recording, you can see them here.
We then moved to our formal Annual Members’ Meeting. The Board of Directors presented a review of our 2023/24 financial year and gave a look forward to the year ahead. There were also updates from our auditors and Lead Governor on the work of the Council of Governors.
