MP Sir Geoffrey Cox visits North Devon District Hospital
21 May 2026
We were delighted to welcome Sir Geoffrey Cox, MP for Torridge and Tavistock, to North Devon District Hospital (NDDH) on Friday 15 May.
Sir Geoffrey met with Chief Executive Officer Sam Higginson and Chief Nursing Officer Carolyn Mills, who updated him on our current challenges, priorities and opportunities to improve care for patients in his constituency and more widely. This includes the new health and wellbeing campus in Bideford, incorporating a £6 million Community Diagnostics Centre (CDC).
The visit included a tour of the maternity unit, where Sir Geoffrey met with clinical staff and saw the Broadsands Room, our midwife-led birth room with birthing pool, and the bereavement suite, which was funded by generous donations to the hospital charity.
A huge thank you to everybody involved in the visit.
