Patients of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (Royal Devon) can now see all their old letters in MY CARE due to an upgrade that removes restrictions on the number of letters in the system.
MY CARE is the digital service that makes it easy for patients to access their Royal Devon information. With MY CARE letters from the hospital, test results and other medical details are all accessible in one convenient place. Patients can use their computer, tablet or smartphone to use it, read more about MY CARE on the Trust website here
Before the recent upgrade patients would see a maximum of 50 letters that they had been sent within the last year, but patients are now able to view all their past letters.
Around one in every three active Royal Devon patients already use MY CARE and this upgrade is a positive step in response to feedback from these users. It means there is no need for patients to download and save important letters to keep them for reference.
As a result of this upgrade, some patients when they next open MY CARE will see prompts on their home screen to read old letters that they've not previously viewed. Patients are being reminded to check the year and date of any notification to spot if they are looking at an historic message rather than a current one from their care team.
If people have proxy access to the MY CARE account of a family member, then they may also see old notifications and are asked to similarly check the date.
