New MY CARE features being introduced Wednesday 10 December
4 Dec 2025
MY CARE users will see new features after an upgrade to the system on Wednesday 10 December. Following patient feedback the password requirements are changing, read more on that and the other changes below:
Updated MY CARE Header
As well as a few other visual changes, the icons in the header have been reordered and the log out button is now accessible via the account menu drop down (user photo/initials).

Updated Password Requirements
Patients have told us that they find the password requirements challenging, so we are updating the password requirements to make them simpler while still following national guidance. Passwords now have to be at least 10 characters long and have no other special requirements. We recommend you pick a password that combines three random memorable words that do not contain your personal details. This makes your password easier for you to remember and harder for others to guess.
Invitations for Proxy Access
When a staff member grants proxy access (for example granting proxy access to a parent for their child who is under 16 years old) the proxy will now be required to either accept or decline this invitation. To accept the proxy must enter the patients date of birth or if declining they can enter a reason.
Manage multiple messages with bulk actions
Patients and proxies can now select multiple conversations from the list in Message Centre and use bulk actions to more easily move messages to the Archive, bookmark conversations that they consider important, and mark messages that they want to return to later as unread. The Trash action and folder have also been renamed Archive to more accurately represent what happens to the conversation when a patient uses this action.
MY CARE Family Tree
The new Family Tree activity allows a patient (or a proxy with full access) to view their biological family tree and make updates to family members and their medical conditions. Patients can access the Family Tree activity from a link in the Medical and Family History activity.
