A brand new, purpose-built mobile COVID-19 vaccination facility for the people of Northern Devon has opened today, Monday 9 May.

The new vaccination centre is located in the car park of the Barnstaple Tesco Extra, just across the road from its current site in the Barnstaple Leisure Centre.

It will provide vaccines to those with booked appointments and walk-in slots will also continue to be available from the new site. Opening times are: Monday - Friday 8.30am – 7pm, and Saturday & Sunday 8.30am – 4pm.

Leigh Mansfield, Programme Director of Vaccination Services at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust said: ““Our team has pulled out all the stops to get this fantastic new facility up and running in a very short space of time so that we can continue to protect our local communities against COVID-19.

“We would encourage all those eligible for their spring boosters to come and get their jabs as soon as possible. Vaccinations for 5-11 year olds are now also well underway, and it’s not too late for anyone who hasn’t yet had their first, second or first booster doses.”
