Royal Devon heart failure lead shortlisted for British Society for Heart Failure award
3 Dec 2024
We’re extremely proud of Angie Tithecott, Lead Advanced Clinical Practitioner for Heart Failure at the Trust, who was nominated for the prestigious Lynda Blue Award at this year’s British Society for Heart Failure (BSH) Annual Meeting.
The BSH Award is held bi-annually for nurses and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) who have demonstrated excellence in heart failure care. Angie was one of nine nominees from a membership of approximately 1200 specialist nurses and AHPs across the country, and was recognised by her colleagues as demonstrating leadership and innovation.
As part of the nomination, Dr Gibbs, Consultant Cardiologist at the Trust said “Angie developed the local nurse-led heart failure service over 20 years ago and, despite its location in a rural area, has demonstrated remarkable leadership in mentoring, supporting and attracting colleagues to the service."
"Despite the challenges of establishing and developing a service, Angie has also been integral in promoting digital solutions to care, including remote monitoring to enable wider access to heart failure services for patients in Northern Devon."
