Teams and individuals at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust attended the NHS Parliamentary Awards on Monday 14 October, where healthcare leaders, finalists and MPs came together to celebrate the incredible contribution healthcare staff make to the NHS.
Following their success at becoming regional winners, our Northern Devon Heart Failure Remote Monitoring project, Belle’s Place Primary Care project and Louise Barraclough, Lead Nurse and Specialist Safeguarding Lead were invited as finalists to the national award ceremony in London.
Louise was highly commended at the event in the Nursing and Midwifery category, for her work developing a service that cares for, supports and advocates for people and children who have experienced sexual assault.
Louise said “I felt honoured to receive a special mention at the awards and to be able to accept this, not just for myself but also the outstanding SARC and Safeguarding Teams that I am privileged to work with.”
Chris Tidman, Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Royal Devon said “We are extremely proud of our colleagues and their achievements. There were a record 918 nominations in this year’s NHS Parliamentary Awards, so having our finalists represent the South West was testament to the amazing work they are doing to make a difference to our patients.”
Thank you again to the MPs who nominated our incredible teams and individuals this year.
