Royal Devon to lead local GP and pharmacy sexual health services from October 2025
10 Sept 2025
Following the award of a new sexual health services contract for Devon and Torbay earlier this year, the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will take on responsibility for the provision of sexual health services through primary care from 1 October 2025.
Sue Smith, Head of Devon Sexual Health said: “This is such a positive development. Working collaboratively with GPs, pharmacies and community groups, in partnership with our public health colleagues, will help ensure high-quality, inclusive, and responsive sexual healthcare for our local communities.”
Specialist sexual health services will continue to be delivered through Devon Sexual Heath. The transition means its clinicians will be directly supporting and commissioning local services, helping to improve awareness and access to sexual health services and contraception across the region.
