I wanted to improve practice and consistency of quality improvement and research skills within the area of ICU within allied health care professionals and for us to understand each other's roles better. 

I studied research methodology, and principles of critical care, deteriorating patients and leadership and innovation at level 7. I also had a project setting up a research meeting on icu for all members of staff to support research understanding and research into practice. I mapped the roles of some colleagues to the intensive care research framework and supported them with appraisal goals to improve their research knowledge. 

I had a fantastic amount of support from my supervisors Pat Schofield and William Gaunt, as well as my manager Rachel Nuth and Rebecca Fox who support AHP in research. I have had wonderful support from Maggie Shepherd and Helen Quinn to encourage me in my journey. 

I am continuing my MSc in September and I aim to continue to do the research meeting now as part of my job plan. I hope to apply for more research grants in the future to support growing my research projects and innovation.
