Breast screening service
The North and East Devon Breast Screening Service, which is part of the NHS National Breast Screening Programme, is based at Matford Park in Exeter.
You will be invited for a mammogram on one of the mobile units which should be close to where you live. Those who require further investigation will be invited to attend an assessment clinic in Exeter.
All women aged between 50 and 70 are invited for routine screening every three years.
Your local breast screening service is provided by InHealth, a private medical company which works closely with the NHS. Women over the age of 70 are not routinely invited for screening but can request a mammogram by contacting the breast screening unit directly.
If you require treatment following the diagnosis of a breast condition you will be referred to hospital.
