Independent Living Centre
The Independent Living Centre (ILC) provides independent assessment, impartial advice and information about equipment, for people with disabilities and their carers, to enable independence and realise their potential at home, work and leisure.
Visitors to the centre can refer themselves for an appointment to the service. The Independent Living Centre does not sell equipment but has equipment on display for assessment and demonstration and can advise visitors about equipment to meet their needs, how to access equipment and if purchasing equipment; how much they should have to pay. The staff at the ILC also provide equipment advice and training for all Community Store and retail model prescribers in Devon.
